Daral Boles

Available Now
When American trauma therapist Daral Boles left behind her practice to help build a wellness retreat in rural Portugal, she expected healing, not unraveling.
But when wildfire tore through the mountains and her body began breaking down without explanation, she followed the only lead she had: the story.
This is a memoir of fire and aftermath, wellness and illusion, grief and renewal.
About
Daral Boles is a writer turned therapist, turned writer again.
In her first career as an architectural journalist, Daral made her living with her words, writing about people and the places they inhabit. Then, nearly twenty-five years ago, she went back to school for counseling and spent two decades in that field before a dream job in Portugal (or so she thought) came her way. This book, which tells the story of her year in Portugal and the fire that consumed it, is her first foray into memoir.
